I was born in 1972 and had my primary, secondary, and high school educations in Hatay, Turkey. In 1994, I graduated from Cukurova University Medical School, where I enrolled in 1988.
After completing the mandatory service in Bor, Nigde in 1995, I started my neurosurgery residency training at Ankara University Neurosurgery Dept of the Medical School and received my specialist degree in 2001 from the same department. In the same year, I participated in research studies on Brain Tumors as a guest researcher under the supervision of Prof Dr Mehmet Öztürk at Molecular Biology and Genetics Department of Bilkent University.
In 2002, I started to work as a neurosurgery specialist at the Neurosurgery Dept of the Medical School of Ankara University and started PhD studies at the Anatomy Department of the same medical school, which I completed in 2005 and was awarded PhD degree.
I completed Microsurgery Training, provided by Dr Heros and Dr Marcos at Miami Jackson Memorial hospital, Miami-FL, USA, as a guest researcher, and then, I observed the operations conducted by Dr Sami at Hannover International Neurological Institute, Germany.
In 2005 and 2006, I studied the genetics of brain tumors in the laboratories of Harvard University Brigham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA /USA under the supervision of Prof Dr. Peter Black and participated in the intraoperative MR operations.
I received the titles of Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor of neurosurgery in 2015.
I have 46 research publications in internationally acclaimed medical journals.
I am married with one child.
